Bioethanol Fireplaces

Bioethanol is considered a renewable energy source, 100% green, which respects the environment and does not contribute to global warming.

Bioethanol or simply "ethanol", as fuel for the operation of fireplaces, is produced through the fermentation of products of vegetal origin like sugar cane, potatoes, sugar beet and cereals, among others. It is considered a renewable energy source, 100% green, which respects the environment and does not contribute to global warming. Hence the name "bio" ethanol.

At first glance this may cause you some concern and insecurity. However, if you think about it, these are the products produced by our breathing. This is one of the reasons that makes the combustion of bioethanol clean and complete.

As usually bioethanol fireplaces require no chimney or pipes, most of heat generated by the combustion of bioethanol stays on the room- efficiency of bioethanol.

The consequences of use of an inappropriate fuel

Only recommended fuel should be used. In addition to bioethanol, no other fuel should be used in the decorative fireplace. The use of an inappropriate fuel may lead to emission of irritating gases or soot or even toxic gases that can harm human health. In order to ensure a safe use of your fireplace please consider:

  • Type of bioethanol recommended to be used in your fireplace, care with use, handling and storage of bioethanol;
  • Information provided by the manufacturer on what to do if you can not find the fuel indicated. The choice and use of an inappropriate fuel, as well as non-observance, contribute to an increased risk of accidents;
  • Information concerning the supplier of bioethanol and GlammFire retailers/distributors.

Emissions and indoor air quality

From the combustion of bioethanol are released carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O). These are the same products produced by our breathing, they are harmless substances. This is undoubtedly one of the reasons why bioethanol fireplaces are considered as clean and innovative products.
Follow our instructions strictly to ensure:

  • Proper installation of the fireplace;
  • Good ventilation of the space;
  • The use of fuel recommended.

FAQ'S

From the combustion of bioethanol result: carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O). These are the same products produced by our breathing, they are harmless substances. However, it is recommended to keep a good ventilation to ensure a healthy level of oxygen.

The combustion of good quality bioethanol does not release smoke or any kind of unpleasant smells.  Only there is a slight smell once the combustion of bioethanol ends and the flame is extinguished, which quickly dissipates into the air.
